Applications in prescribed forms are invited for the following post at this Institute : 

Librarian 

Scale of Pay : PB4 : ` 37400-67000, Grade Pay = ` 10000 

Minimum Qualification & Experience: 

Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science with at least 55% of the marks or its 

equivalent grade for 55% where grading system is practiced. At least 17 years of experience working  in libraries of which at least 5 years must be at the level of Deputy Librarian (in Grade Pay `7600) or  at least 10 years at the level of Asst. Librarian (in Grade Pay `5400). 

General Information : 

1. The candidate must be a citizen of India. 

2. Age of the candidate is to be not more than 55 years as on 1/4/2013. 

3. Persons employed in Govt./Semi Govt. Organisations/Autonomous Bodies should submit their  applications through their employers. 

4. Degree as referred above are those which have been awarded by a recognized University /Institution. 

5. Mere fulfillment of the minimum qualification will not vest any right on a candidate for being called for a written test/skill test/interview. 

6. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview. 

7. The Institute also reserves the right of rejecting any or all the applications without assigning any reasons thereof. 

8. The post is regular. The selected candidate will be on probation for one year or longer, based on his/her performance.

10. Incomplete applications or application without attested copies of certificates or received after the last date are liable to rejection. 

11. Any dispute with regard to the selection/recruitment process will be subject to Courts/Tribunals having jurisdiction over Guwahati. 

12. Last date for receipt of completed application forms is 15/5/2013.

13. Canvassing in any form/bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification for the post. “INTERIM ENQUIRY WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED”.
