These awards will provide an excellent opportunity to young Indian researchers (permanent faculty), under the age of 40 years to interact with the
American academic/scientific community and get first hand information of the developments taking place at the international level and acquaint
themselves with new academic and scientific research methods and to participate in collaborative research projects. It will enable young Indian
researchers to carry out a clearly defined research project and/or acquire newly emerging research techniques and technologies at a place of
their choice in USA for a period of up to 12 months. This fellowship would be called a Post Doctoral Fellowship for the year 2012 to be
awarded by University Grants Commission, India

Centre for Library and Information Management Studies, Sir Dorabji Tata Memorial Library, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai is a major Centre involved in capacity building of LIS professionals. It offers PG Diploma, Masters and PhD Programmes in Library and Information Science discipline with a focus on digital libraries, knowledge organization, e-Resources Management and web based information services.
TISS is happy to announce admissions to the programme "Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Library and Information Management" for the year 2013-14.
This cutting edge, one year dual-mode programme uses contact classes for on-campus and Moodle e-learning platform for its off-campus sessions.It is aimed at creating trained manpower to handle digital libraries and electronic resources. There is a burgeoning need for trained librarians in the light of national priorities like National Mission on Education through Information and Communication technology (NME-ICT) and National Knowledge Commission (NKC). This programme will equip librarians with skills of digital library and information management to play a bigger role in their organizations.
The salient features of this programme are well crafted curriculum, expert faculty, enhanced emphasis on hands on lab experience, sound theory and experiential learning unique to TISS.
